THE state government has announced funding of $175,000 to support targeted business growth activity in Wellington Shire.
Gippsland South MLA Peter Ryan said the funding would support business growth and create employment opportunities targeting high-performing businesses with significant potential to expand their operations and employment.
“Our funding will enable the Wellington Shire Council to employ a business development officer to provide tailored business guidance and help eligible firms to access funding support and government programs that meet their specific development needs,” Mr Ryan said.
Mr Ryan said the Accelerated Growth and Small Business Support program was a key initiative under the government’s Latrobe Valley Industry and Employment Roadmap launched in July.
Mr Ryan said the government would provide a total of $525,000 to local councils in Gippsland to deliver the roadmap initiative, including Baw Baw and Latrobe councils, which would each receive $175,000.
