Man is in hospital with spinal injuries

POLICE are urging motorists to take care on the roads following two separate car accidents in Heyfield this week.

A 36-year-old Cowwarr man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital on Saturday with severe internal and spinal injuries after his car struck two trees at Licola Rd, Heyfield, about 10.30pm.

Inquiries are still being made as to the cause of the incident.

A 20-year-old Maffra man was taken by ambulance to Central Gippsland Health Service, Sale, with minor injuries after an incident on the Traralgon-Maffra Rd about 10pm Tuesday.

The man ran through the intersection at Tinamba, ploughing through two road signs before coming to stop in a ditch.

Police suspect an ongoing medical condition to be the cause of the accident.
