Port Albert man fights for life after assault

A PORT Albert man is in a critical condition after he was assaulted in his home on Sunday.

The man was airlifted to Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital on Sunday after he was allegedly attacked by two men.

Police allege a number of weapons were used, including a frying pan which they said caused the most damage.

Two Port Albert men, aged 46 and 20, been remanded in custody after being charged with intent to cause serious injury.

Police allege they turned up at the man’s house spoiling for a fight.

They said should the man die as a result of his injuries, the pair’s charges could be upgraded to murder.
