One that flamin’ got away

A 34-YEAR-old Drouin man was shocked when the 5.2 metre Quintrex boat he was towing burst into flames on Wednesday.

The man was travelling along the Princes highway just outside of Rosedale, east of Flynn’s Creek, when the boat suddenly ignited.

He managed to pull over to the side of the road and unhitch the trailer before Flynn’s Creek CFA members arrived to extinguish the boat and resulting grass fire.

The blaze was not suspicious.

Police believe an electrical fault was responsible for the damage.

Traffic on the Princes highway was disrupted for a short time.
