Crash victim airlifted

A 49-YEAR-old Traralgon man was air lifted to Melbourne with head and chest injuries after a crash at Woodside 8.30am Friday.

The man’s 48-year-old Traralgon passenger managed to pull him from the wreck moments before the car was engulfed by flames.

She was transported to Latrobe Regional Hospital with suspected serious, non life-threatening, injuries.

Police said her actions probably saved the man’s life.

A local farmer managed to contain the blaze, using a regulation fire trailer and pump, before three CFA crews arrived. Police are yet to determine the cause of the accident.
