Mild conditions help control fire

MILD conditions mean there is no significant fire activity in the area from Donnelly Creek south of Aberfeldy to the area north and north-west of Heyfield.

This bushfire is being controlled, but smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.

Department of Sustainability and Environment, Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water crews continue to black out and patrol the fire area.

Infrared cameras are being used on the ground and from the air to detect any hot spots.Crews are preparing areas for proposed backburning operations to consolidate the northern boundaries of the fire on Thursday.

Tourists are able to access most areas except north of the Thomson Dam. Towns including Licola and Walhalla are open for business.

The Blores Hill Mountain Bike track and local parks in the Glenmaggie area remain closed to the public.
