A 75-YEAR-old man charged over the Aberfeldy-Donnelly fire has been granted bail.
Graeme Ernest Code appeared before the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court and was been granted bail on the condition he stay away from his regular address.
Police have been guarding the Mr Code’s Aberfeldy property because of fears of revenge attacks.
Mr Code was remanded in custody on Tuesday, after he was charged with five offences, including recklessly and unlawfully lighting a fire without a permit.
Mr Code is due to return to court in May.
The fire began in Aberfeldy on January 17 and has burned more than 70,000 hectares, claiming the life of one man, destroying 22 houses and killing about 200 livestock.
