A 32-YEAR-old mentally ill Maffra man threatened officers at the Maffra police station with a knife, Wednesday morning, in a bid to get them to take his life.
It took police an hour to talk the man down.
No one was injured in the incident and the man surrendered peacefully.
He was taken to Central Gippsland Health Service, Sale, for assessment before being transported to Latrobe Regional Hospital, Traralgon, for treatment.
