Servo robbery accused face court

THE 36-year-old-man and 24-year-old woman accused of robbing the United petrol station last November faced Sale Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police allege the accused entered the business with their faces obscured by scarves and hats and demanded money from the male console operator, the man armed with a double barrel shotgun and the woman carrying a large combat-style hunting knife.

The man allegedly pressed the shotgun against the attendant as cash was scooped from the till, with the alleged offenders escaping in a stolen car north on the Princes Highway.

The matter was adjourned and a trial date has yet to be set.
