Teen drinking dramas at Mardi Gras

AN otherwise peaceful Maffra Mardi Gras on Saturday was marred by drinking dramas involving teens.

A 15-year-old Sale boy was arrested for drunken behaviour and escorted to the Maffra Police Station where he was collected by his parents.

A 16-year-old Sale boy was taken to Central Gippsland Health Service, Sale, by ambulance after he was assaulted.

While police would not reveal the extent of his injuries, they said it appeared he had been drinking.

Inquiries into the incident are still under way and people with information are urged to phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.
