Crash kills two young men

A 19-YEAR-old man has been charged after a fatal collision which killed two men in Glengarry early Saturday morning.

Investigators for the Major Collision Investigation Unit arrested the Traralgon man around 3pm Saturday afternoon.

Robert Saunders faced an out of session hearing at Traralgon police station and has been charged with two counts of culpable driving causing death. He has been remanded in custody to attend the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The two men who died in the collision have been identified as a 22-year-old and an 18-year-old, both from Sale.

The crash happened when a utility, carrying six people, left the Maffra-Traralgon Rd and rolled onto its roof, ejecting several of the occupants around 2.40am.

First police on the scene conducted CPR but two people, aged in their late teens or early 20s, died from their injuries, while another man was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital in a critical condition.
