A MOTORBIKE rider died at Bogong near Mount Beauty on Saturday after falling from his bike and being struck by another motorcycle heading in the opposite direction.
Emergency services were called to a stretch of the Bogong-High Plains Road south of Lake Guy where the a rider lost control of his bike while heading south on a left-hand bend about 3.40pm. He died at the scene.
The rider of the second bike, a man from Lancaster, was lucky to escape injury and was treated for shock at the scene.
