A 36-YEAR-old McLoughlins Beach man became stuck on mud flats in a boat at Port Albert last Wednesday night when the tide receded.
The man phoned friends at 7pm informing them he would not be able to get home, and they alerted the coast guard the following morning.
The police marine unit was sent out Thursday morning to locate the man, and an air search was undertaken over Port Albert and Port Welshpool.
The man was rescued at 4pm when the tide came back in and crews were able to reach him.
He was uninjured.
VANDALS set fire to two cardboard recycling skip bins with mesh fronts, on Macarthur and York Sts, Sale, just before midnight Sunday.
