A SECTION of the South Gippsland highway at York St, Sale was closed for an hour last Friday, after two cars collided near the police station.
Police, ambulance and the Country Fire Authority attended.
While no one was injured, an 18-year-old Alberton woman and a Longford family of five were taken to Central Gippsland Health Service, Sale, for observation.
The cars were towed from the scene.
Police said the 29-year-old Longford man was driving north along the South Gippsland Highway with his wife and three children when his vehicle and a car driven by the Alberton P-plater collided.
Police allege the P-plater, the sole occupant of the other car, emerged from Punt Lane and turned right onto the highway without giving way.
She has been issued with an infringement notice.
