Driver put out to pasture

A 59-YEAR-old Melbourne man found himself sitting in a paddock by the side of the South Gippsland Highway at Yarram after he drove his car through a fence on Wednesday.

Police said the man misjudged the Highland Highway-South Gippsland Highway intersection, knocking over road signs and driving through the fence before coming to a stop.

No one was injured in the incident.

According to police the damage to the man’s car was significantly minor to what it could have been.

Police have listed alcohol as a major factor in the crash, with the man blowing over 0.05.

He has since been issued with a penalty notice for drink driving.

The incident happened just before 8pm.
