THREE people were winched to safety at Port Albert Sunday morning after the motor of their eight metre two and a half tonne boat suffered engine failure on Saturday night.

Two were Robertson’s Beach locals, the other was from McLoughlins Beach. No one was injured. Yarram police and the marine unit attended.

A little bit over

A HEYFIELD man in his thirties has been issued with a penalty notice after Heyfield police caught him driving along Weir Rd, Heyfield with a blood alcohol reading just over 0.05.

Unregistered vehicle

A 20-YEAR-old Heyfield woman was caught by Heyfield police driving an unregistered car along the Traralgon-Maffra Rd at Heyfield 9am Monday.

She will be issued with a penalty notice.

Police said the car she was driving didn’t have licence plates attached.

Trespass

POLICE are looking for a man who was spotted illegally hunting on a private property at Licola at the weekend.

Police said the man was spotted on the property at 4pm on Saturday.

Anyone with information about a white Magna sedan seen near Target Creek and Rose Gap north of Licola is urged to phone Heyfield Police on 5148 2202.

Resisting arrest

A MAN spent the time in the cells at Sale police station after resisting his arrest in York St, Saturday afternoon in relation to a previous incident.

Police said the man struck out violently at his arresting officers before he was overpowered and taken to the station.

According to the police the man appeared intoxicated so they left him in the cells to sober up before interview.

Licence suspended

A 22-YEAR-old Heyfield man will be without his licence for six-months after police caught him driving at 143kmh along the Traralgon-Maffra Rd at Heyfield at 9am on Thursday.

He has also been issued with a penalty notice.
