THE Australian Electoral Commission will officially declare the candidates in the 2013 House of Representatives election in the Division of Gippsland in Sale tomorrow at noon.
Following the declaration of the 2013 candidates, the divisional returning officer for Gippsland, David Wakely, will conduct the random draw for positions on the ballot paper.
So far, there are eight confirmed candidates for Gippsland, incumbent Darren Chester (Nationals), Jeff McNeill (Labor), Scott Campbell-Smith (Greens), Peter Gardner (independent), Douglas Leitch (Australian Sex Party), Ben Buckley (Liberal Democrats), Peter Dorian (Rise Up Australia), while Queensland resident Debbie Gravenall will replace Will Tomlinson as the candidate for the Palmer United Party.
The declaration event and draw for ballot paper positions will take place at 91 Raymond St, Sale.
Information on how the draw for positions on the House of Representatives ballot paper is conducted is available on the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au
The House of Representatives candidates for all other electoral divisions will be declared at noon by the divisional returning officer for each division at separate events around Australia.
The Senate candidates in each state and territory will also be declared at noon by the AEC state manager for that state or territory at an event in each capital city.
Nominations for the 2013 federal election had to be received by the AEC by today at noon.
