MINOR flood warnings are in place for the Macalister and Mitchell rivers.
Upstream of Lake Glenmaggie:
The Macalister River at Licola peaked at 2.79m (minor flood level 2.7m) Monday morning. The river is expected to remain around the minor flood level into Monday afternoon/evening.
With the forecast rainfall further rises are possible resulting in continued minor flooding overnight into Tuesday.
Downstream of Lake Glenmaggie:
Southern Rural Water advised releases from Lake Glenmaggie were below the minor flood flow (7500 ML/day). Releases are expected to remain below the minor flood flow for this event.
In the 24 hours to 9am Monday, rainfall totals of up to 38mm have been recorded in the Macalister River catchment.
Rainfall totals of up to 5 to 10mm mm have been forecast for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
Upstream of Glenaladale:
The Wonnangatta River at Waterford is below the minor flood level (3.5m) and rising. The river was expected to peak around the minor flood level during Monday afternoon.
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is steady below the minor flood level (3m). A forecast peak will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.
No data is currently available from the Mitchell River at Bairnsdale (Pumphouse), however the river is expected to be steady below the minor flood level (4m). A forecast peak will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.
