Drug charges

A SALE man in is 20s will face drug charges.

Sale police allege he was found in possession of a quantity of GHB and amphetamines.

Drivers targeted

SALE Highway Patrol police have warned motorists there will be no tolerance shown to drivers ignoring roadwork speed restriction signs.

They said the speed restrictions were sanctioned and approved by VicRoads and posted not just for road users’ safety, but to ensure the safety of road workers.

A highway patrol spokesman said the speed restrictions, whether 40kmh, 60kmh or 80kmh, may be a slight inconvenience for drivers, but were there for a reason and would be enforced.

He said a number of motorists had recently been fined for exceeding the speed limits locally and the Sale Highway Patrol would be paying particular attention to road work zones in coming months.
