Police kept busy with stabbing and hold-up

A WOMAN was taken by ambulance to Sale hospital after allegedly being stabbed in the ribs and slashed twice across the face in a violent attack by her partner in Sale on Wednesday night.

Her attacker has been remanded in custody facing a charge of intentionally causing serious injury, and will face court at a later date.

POLICE have charged four people aged in their 20s with the hold-up at Freedom Fuels in York St, Sale on Wednesday evening.

Police allege two men entered the store, one threatening the attendant with a knife as the other emptied the till, fleeing the store about 6.30pm in a car with two accomplices.

Two of the alleged offenders are from the Sale area, and the other two from Traralgon area.

The three men have been remanded in custody charged with armed robbery, while a woman has been bailed, and also faces an armed robbery charge.

They will face court at a later date.

Road rage incident

A 21-YEAR-old man was punched in the face after an apparent road rage incident in Maffra on Saturday night.

Police said the victim was being tailgated by a white VN or VP Holden Commodore and when it stopped on the Sale-Maffra Rd near Maffra, the victim also stopped his car and went to see what the issue was.

Police said a male passenger got out of the back seat of the Commodore and punched the man in the face.

The victim suffered minor injuries, and police are searching for a Caucasian male who was wearing jeans and a leather jacket at the time of the alleged assault.
