EMERGENCY crews had to cut through a tree to reach a girl trapped in a car in the Tarra-Bulga National Park on Thursday.
Crews were called to the Tarra Valley Rd in the national park after the seven-year-old girl was trapped in the vehicle about 1pm.
Strong winds had pushed a tree onto the car, containing a family of five.
Rescuers took about an hour to free the girl, who suffered leg injuries, from the vehicle as her parents and two siblings watched on.
The girl and the 41-year-old father, who sustained a neck injury, were taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital for treatment.
