THE Flying Doctors are hoping to build on their presence in Gippsland.
As they build relationships with key organisations across the region, members of the Royal Flying Doctors Service state board met with Wellington Shire councillors on Tuesday.
RFDS Victoria chief executive Scott Chapman said the service was delivering more services to Victorian communities as well as maintaining its outback rescue and primary health care services.
“As part of this growth, RFDS Victoria is building its services throughout regional and rural Victoria, including in the Gippsland region,” he said.
“Our mobile patient care non-emergency patient transfer service has its main regional base at Maffra, with other bases at Darnum and Wonthaggi.
“We also have very generous donors in the Gippsland community, so it was great to come to Sale as a board and management and meet local leaders.
“We’re hoping to build on our presence in Gippsland and part of that is building relationships with key stakeholders in the region and it was great to meet the mayor and his council.”
