THE Loch Sport community has used people power to secure a special deal for residents.
More than 12 months ago resident Cheaper Electricity Deal co-ordinator Bruce Cox, under the umbrella of the Loch Sport Community Representative Group put out feelers for Loch Sport residents and others to express their interest to get a better deal on their electricity.
Mr Cox, said after negotiations, phone calls and emails he could announce participating residents would get a rebate as well as cash back on their electricity accounts.
“At first the energy companies didn’t want to know us and I found it very hard to find any electricity retailer who would talk to me,” he said.
“It was as if they didn’t even care about any of the 540 households we have in Loch Sport.
“Then I found great support from the guys at BetterBills.com who took up our cause and ultimately secured us this great deal which also puts cash back in the pockets of Loch Sport residents.
BetterBills.com is an online service that helps people find a better deal on their energy accounts and also splits anything they get paid, through commissions with the customer 50-50.
Tim Andrew and David Ingram, the CEOs of BetterBills.com, agreed dealing with the big power companies could be daunting, but finding people better deals on their energy needs was what the company did every day.
About 150 residents have taken up the deal for cheaper electricity, plus the cash back deal.
