POLICE are looking for witnesses to an incident in Foster St, Maffra, on Friday, November 22, where a man verbally abused and kicked the car of an elderly woman.
About 1.30pm the woman, driving a 1991 red Toyota sedan, attempted to pull out of a car park when the man, believed to be in his 30s, drove past in a cream-coloured four wheel drive, narrowly missing the woman’s vehicle.
According to police, the man stopped his car in the middle of the road, reversed beside the woman’s car and got out of his vehicle, launching into a tirade of verbal abuse.
Police said the man, who is about 182cms tall and was wearing green shorts, a yellow high visibility vest and brown peaked cap, threw himself at the driver side door, kicking at the vehicle, terrorising the woman and causing significant damage to her car.
He then drove off.
Witness can phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.
Thieves take keys
Police are looking for a blue 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer sedan which was stolen from a Brewer Hill Rd property on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, there were no signs of forced entry, with burglars taking nothing but the car keys.
While the car had a significant amount of fuel in the tank, police believe it might have been dumped locally.
The car was marked with distinctive bullet hole stickers.
People with information are being urged to phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.
Lock cars warning
Police are continuing to remind people to lock their vehicles and remove valuables if leaving cars unattended, and to lock away or chain up bikes and secure their properties to prevent theft.
Police said taking these measures would reduce their call-outs, allowing them to focus on more serious issues.
