Liberals fill Davis’ Upper House seat

WEST Gippsland farmer and businessman Andrew Ronalds has been chosen to replace retiring Eastern Victoria MLC Philip Davis.

Mr Ronalds was selected from a large field of candidates by the Liberal Party to fill the casual vacancy created after Mr Davis announced in October he would resign after 21 years in parliament.

Mr Davis said he would exit parliament after his party found a replacement.

With it still under lease, Mr Ronalds is expected to retain Mr Davis’ Sale office, at least until next November’s election.

Mr Ronalds is a director for Dairy Cropping Australia, and was managing director at Jindi Cheese for 14 years.
