Motorcyclist fractures leg

A 54-YEAR-old Carrum Downs man fractured his leg when he lost control and came off his motorbike at Moroka in the High Country about 2.30pm on Saturday.

Riding in a group, the man was taken to Wombat Rd, near Valencia Creek by motor vehicle where he was then transported to Sale hospital by road ambulance.

Ambulance crews were unable to reach the man where the incident occurred because they were unable to get their ambulance through the rugged and bushy terrain.

The incident was attended by Briagolong police.

Speeding car

WELLINGTON Highway Patrol members are calling on witnesses to a car speeding and driving erratically through Rosedale on Sunday night to come forward.

Police pursued the car along the Princes Highway from Sale to Rosedale, watching as it overtook a number of vehicles at speed.

Police urge the drivers of those vehicles to phone the Sale Police Station on 5143 5000 to assist them with their inquiries.

Caravan tumble

THE Princes Highway was closed at Rosedale for 45 minutes on Saturday morning following the roll-over of a caravan at 9.25am, blocking the road.

The caravan was being towed for the first time by a 60-year-old Rosedale woman, heading towards Traralgon, when she lost control.

Neither the woman nor her passenger were injured in the incident.

Bridge work warning

MOTORISTS speeding through 40kmh speed restricted zones at Rainbow Creek Bridge on the Traralgon-Maffra Rd have been warned to slow down.

Many drivers have been ignoring the temporary speed signs in place while bridge works are underway.

Police said they would target the area as bridge works continue, to ensure the safety of workers.
