Police seize footage of parachuting incident

POLICE have seized footage from a camera believed to have been removed from a man who died following a parachuting incident in Giffard last weekend.

Emergency services were called to the area near the 423 metre tall Omega Tower around 2.30pm on Saturday where the body of a 23-year-old New South Wales man Ash Cosgriff was located.

It is alleged the camera was attached to the helmet of the deceased.

Police believe the camera was removed from the scene prior to emergency services arriving.

Sale detectives travelled to Queensland on Wednesday and spoke to a 32-year-old Gold Coast man.

Police then attended an address in Sydney on Thursday and recovered the footage.

The Gold Coast man is expected to be charged on summons with offences including failing to report a death.

Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
