Handbrake start

A CAR ploughed through the shop front of a United petrol station in Sale this week when a female passenger, feeling cold in the back seat, put the car into ignition in order to turn on the heater, releasing the handbrake.

Among the startled onlookers was the car’s driver, paying for diesel inside the servo.

BRIAGOLONG police are looking for the driver of a car which collided with a farm fence at the intersection of the Maffra-Briagolong and the Boisdale-Valencia Creek Rds at Boisdale late Tuesday night.

Police believe the driver of the vehicle lost control while travelling from Boisdale to Briagolong damaging the wire fence.

The incident was reported to police on Wednesday.

BRIAGOLONG police are appealing for witnesses to the removal and theft of car licence plates from two cars parked in Forbes St, Briagolong.

The thefts happened between Wednesday, April 23 and Anzac Day, April 25.
