Mining notice should’ve been printed locally

I AM writing regarding a public notice (Herald Sun, 30/1) regarding the mining of mineral sands over Culloden and Briagolong, more than 169km for a five year term.

I have spoken to many locals and have been shocked that no one is aware of this mining, nor do some understand the impact this will have on the environment.

I was raised and have lived mining most of my life.

I am aware what mining will do and the damage it will have on the earth and habitat.

Why was this same public notice not printed in the Gippsland Times so others can be aware of the application?
