Marilyn Elwers, Port Albert, and Thelma Keeley, Stratford, worked with the Red Cross to register evacuees as they came to Sale. Marilyn was a part of a first aid team sent from Yarram to help the displaced. Thelma was there as a representative from the Emergency National Registration Inquiry Service.
