Meyer misses the Olympics

FORMER Sale swimmer Jeremy Meyer missed out on selection for the Australian Olympic team, despite finishing second in the 200 metre breaststroke at the nationals titles in Adelaide this week.

Meyer finished just over a second outside the “A-qualifying” mark which would have guaranteed his ticket to London, with national team selectors not opting to take Meyer to the games

Meyer, now based at the Australian Institute in Canberra, also won a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke.

Another former Sale swimmer Ashley Delaney also missed the Olympic team after fourth-placed finishes in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
