Blues break clear at top

ROSEDALE sits a win clear on top of the North Gippsland netball ladder following a 46-39 win over Churchill and a loss for Traralgon-Tyers United.

Sitting locked on points at the top of the ladder, the clash between reigning premier Rosedale and Churchill promised plenty.

One of the biggest improvers this season, the Cougars were tested throughout the contest as they looked to match the intensity of the top of the table Blues. However it was the Blues’ ability to draw away and keep a buffer between their opponents which proved the difference.

Sixth-placed Cowwarr provided the upset of the round, holding off the second-placed TTU to win by two goals.

It was far from one-way traffic in the contest between Gormandale and Heyfield, with the Kangaroos falling shy by three goals.

Sale City returned to the winners’ list with a comprehensive 16-goal victory over Boisdale-Briagolong, while Glengarry firmed its hold on a top five place against Woodside.
