WELLINGTON Shire’s two Olympians were in action last night in London, with Pauline Frasca progressing to the final of the women’s quad sculls and Keith Ferguson in the mix to make the final of the men’s skeet.
At the Eton College Rowing Centre, Frasca, from Sale, Dana Faletic, Kerry Hore and Amy Clay, won the repechage on Monday night (Australian time) to progress to the final, which will be held tomorrow night from 7.20pm.
The Australian team had to compete in the repechage after finishing second in its heat on Saturday night.
After three rounds of qualification for the men’s skeet shooting event at the Royal Artillery Barracks, Ferguson from Longford has a score of 70 out of a possible 75, four behind leader, Amercian Vincent Hancock.
The best-placed Australian, Ferguson is only one point behind the sixth place with only two rounds, of 25 shots each, remaining tonight before the top six competitors shoot for gold in a final round of 25 shots.
Qualification resumes tonight at 6pm with the final from 11pm.
