NEW South Wales cyclist Luke Davidson claimed the opening two stages of the Tour of Gippsland today.
Davidson won opening stage, a 40 kilometre criterium around San Remo, and the second stage 66.76km road race around the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Davidson leads the general classification with Anthony Giacoppo second and William Walker third.
Stage one was taken out by Davidson ahead of Budget Forklifts teammate Ryan MacAnally with Giacoppo third.
The road race was again taken out by Davidson, with Jack Beckinsale second and Alex Wohler third.
Tomorrow’s racing begins with a 45km criterium around Ted Summerton Reserve, Moe in the morning before a 55.2km stage from Morwell to Yinnar via Narracan and Thorpdale.
