A 15-GOAL to seven opening term was the impetus for Sale City’s upset win over third placed Traralgon-Tyers United to finish its North Gippsland netball season on a high on Saturday.
The Bombers were left to play catch up, and they did exactly that, shooting 18 goals to seven in the third term to drew within four at the beginning of the final term. However, the home side held strong to win 50-42.
Horrendous conditions kept the scoring between Cowwarr and Heyfield to a minimum as the sixth-placed Saints held on to win by three goals.
In the elimination final on Sunday, Cowwarr will play Gormandale, who lost to minor premier Rosedale 54-33.
Churchill put in a strong showing ahead of next weekend’s qualifying final against Glengarry by defeating Woodside 56-26. Glengarry accounted for Boisdale-Briagolong 59-26.
