CHURCHILL upset Rosedale to claim the North Gippsland A grade netball title.
Yet to claim the honors in their three prior meetings against the reigning premier, the Cougars established a handy break at the first change.
Continuing their charge led by best-on-court goal attack and captain Kylie O’Brien, there was no halting the Cougars’ charge as they kept building on their lead to run home comfortable 21-goal victors, 53-32.
In B grade, Gormandale made light work of Rosedale in a dominate performance which saw the Tigers cause one another upsets, winning 44-32. The Tigers’ Jodie Mills named best-on-court.
The other grand finals went to script with Gormandale (C grade), Glengarry (D grade) and Traralgon-Tyers United (under 17s) completing clean sweeps to take out their respective premierships.
Rosedale was no match for Gormandale in the C grade grand final, with the Tigers winning 48-35. Tiger Casey Callanan was a dominant figure in the goal circle and was jusged best-on-court.
D grade minor premier Glengarry followed on from their faultless season in the big one, defeating TTU by three goals, 46-43. Glengarrry’s Kim Mackrell was named best-on-court.
The physicality of TTU’s under 17s proved to be the difference against Glengarry, winning 37-30. TTU’s Kirsty Hodgson was named best-on-court.
