SALE continued its dream run through the Gippsland League A grade netball finals series with a 31-29 win over Traralgon in the preliminary final.
After finishing the home-and-away season in fifth place, the Magpies will now meet Leongatha in the grand final. It will be their first grand final appearance since going down to Traralgon in 1997
In an even match, Traralgon led by two points at half-time before Sale was in front by three at the final change and held on to win by two after a desperate fourth term.
The Magpies used their squad of 10 players to great effect during such a fast moving match as fresh legs played a vital role during the closing stages.
IN the under 17s, Maffra played well to get within three of Traralgon, but the Maroons won 39-36 and will meet Sale in the grand final.
IN another desperate finish, Sale held on to defeat Wonthaggi 40-39 to book a place in the grand final against Traralgon.
With Sale leading by six late in the match, the Power fought back but the Magpies were able to hold back the surge.
TRARALGON moved into the B grade grand final against Leongatha with a 47-25 win over Morwell.
IN C grade Morwell defeated Leongatha 26-20, setting-up a grand final against Traralgon.
IN the under 13s, Traralgon defeated Wonthaggi 61-27 and will meet Sale next week.
