Racing tomorrow at Greenwattle

TOMORROW will be the first Wednesday race meeting of the season at Greenwattle Racecourse, with some excellent entries received.

Good prize money for the showcase races has attracted entries from the leading trainers. The running rail will be out five metres for the entire circuit and with fine weather predicted, all is set for a great day out.

Mick Price has entered several up-and-coming horses and has engaged jockey of the moment, Glen Boss. They look like a strong combination in the maiden events.

Michael Walker is another jockey who is worth following at the moment.

After 17 starts, Bally Tambo is still a maiden. The 1200m maiden could be win number one for the Mario Farrugia-trained gelding, who finished fourth at Bairnsdale after a long break.

Talented galloper Sergius, trained by Paul Worthington, will contest the 1000m showcase race.

Ultra consistent New York, trained by Allison Bennett, is in a very strong showcase race which includes an entry from Gai Waterhouse, Tribal Rock with Vlad Duric in the saddle.

Bombsquad, trained by Frankie Stockdale, after his promising first up win, tackles 0-62 showcase with Jason Benbow again on board. In the same event, Michael Rodd has the mount on Stringy for Andrew Murray who is first-up and has won first-up in the past.

Tanjil is also in this event and ran-on well for second to Famous Finnish at its most recent start.
