NO first grade results were possible as rain affected the opening round of Sale-Maffra cricket on Saturday.
While there were results on all four under 16 matches in the morning, only one senior grade match was completed, when Rosedale-Kilmany defeated Sale City in the fourths.
THE most play in first grade was at Stratford with 12 overs possible before the match between Stratford and Boisdale-Briagolong was abandoned.
The visitor reached 56 without loss with former Stratford player Mick Roberts scoring 29 in his first hit-out for his new club and Steve Noble making 22.
IN the rematch of last season’s grand final, Maffra scored a brisk 0-64 at home before play stopped a ball short of completing the ninth over. Glenn Semmens scored 36 and captain Brett Lanigan 23.
IN 12 overs at Stephenson Park, Sale City scored 31 without loss against Rosedale-Kilmany. Mitch Bennett made 15 and captain Jarryd Floyd four.
ONLY eight legitimate deliveries were possible at the College Oval as Collegians scored five runs against Sale. Shaun Skeen made three, the only runs to come off the bat.
