Trainers join fundraising effort

SALE and District Little Athletics Centre is raising funds to help it meet the growing number of registrations.

The centre has had a very successful start of the 2012-13 season with more than 190 registrations.

With the increase of registrations, there is a need for a more sophisticated timing system to increase accuracy and relieve the pressure on the parent helpers currently required to time the sprint races.

The centre is looking to purchase a computerised timing system, used by many Little Athletics centres throughout Australia. The cost of the timing system is more than $11,000 with fundraising efforts for this item put on the centre’s priority list.

To help, Sale business Kristal’s Personal Training Studio will donate next week’s takings from its morning group fitness sessions.

People are encouraged to take part in some fun fitness sessions, beginning on Monday from 6am and 9.30am, followed by the same sessions on Wednesday and Friday.

Cost is $10 per session, which will be fully donated to the Sale and District Little Athletics Centre. No membership fees apply.

For more information visit the centre’s Facebook page or, or phone Kristal Murrell on 0439 642 957.
