MAFFRA held on to defeat Moe by one point at home during round seven of the Country Basketball League on Saturday night.
Missing a few key players, Maffra saw Moe jump to an early in the first quarter before the young Eagles worked their way back into the game over the next two quarters off the back of the running game from Jazmin Allman and Tori Wilson, who ended up with 18 and eight points respectively.
The final quarter was a see-saw affair with the Eagles holding on to win by one point, 64-63.
Bree Sherry was outstanding for Moe at both ends of the floor, and Maddy Bates for Maffra was very strong in a very physical game, finishing the game with an impressive 17 points.
Maffra will be looking to make up for its round three loss against the Western Port Steelers at the Cameron Sporting Complex this Sunday from 1pm. This will be the Eagles’ final home game for the season.
