SALE-Maffra may need to defeat Alberton this Sunday at Yarram to keep its hopes of playing in a home Gippsland Cricket League grand final.
Sale-Maffra Cricket Association will be hosting GCL finals this and next season.
Bundalaguh skipper Matt Dowsett will captain the Sharks this Sunday.
After a round one bye and a wash-out in round two when in a good position against Central Gippsland, Sale-Maffra may need a win to at least keep in reach of leader Warragul, the only side to have recorded two victories this season.
Alberton is coming off a big loss to Warragul in the only match which avoided being washed-out in round two.
Alberton will also be keen to retain the Lanigan-McAninley Trophy it won two seasons ago.
Also this Sunday, third-placed Leongatha will host second-placed Bairnsdale in the match of the round, and Central Gippsland will play arch rival Traralgon at Maryvale Reserve, Morwell. Ladder leader Warragul will have the bye.
