THE Maffra Eagles missed the Country Basketball League Gippsland conference women’s semi-finals.
The Eagles finished the season in fifth place after Korumburra was able to win one of its two final round matches to move into third place on the ladder.
The Eagles missed out on the final place in the semi-finals to Moe, who had a superior head-to-head record during the season. Despite the teams winning one of their meetings each, the Meteors finished ahead due to their bigger win.
In the semi-finals Saturday night, minor premier Traralgon will host Moe, while Western Port will host Korumburra.
The men’s semi-finals will also be played Saturday night with Warragul at home against Moe and Western Port hosting Churchill.
