AUSTRALIA’S first polocrosse tournament with prize money will be played this weekend at Polocrosse Park, Fulham.
The Southern 50 will feature some of Australia’s best players, including members of the national team.
Players from all mainland states and the Northern Territory will be competing in eight teams assembling especially for the event.
Such is the quality of players assembled, spectators should see the highest standard polocrosse in Australia.
The winning team will receive $10,000.
The first matches will be begin at 2pm on Friday with the semi-finals Sunday morning before the final from 2pm.
Prize money will also be on offer in the flag and barrel, and barrel races, Shetland derby and team penning events.
There will be live music on Friday and Saturday nights, while there will be a Calcutta on Friday night.
There will be camping facilities available over the weekend and there will be bar facilities.
The Southern 50 is being held to help Sale Polocrosse Club raise funds to upgrade the toilet facilities at Polocrosse Park.
