Hat-trick helps United

TOMMY Nguyen scored a hat-trick to help Sale United defeat Monash 3-0 at home on Sunday.

The Swans took control of the match after Nguyen score two goals in the first half.

The win maintained the Swans’ third place on the Gippsland Soccer League table.

Churchill United maintained a perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win against Traralgon United.

Moe United is still in second place ahead of Sale on goal difference after a 5-0 win over local rival Newborough-Yallourn United.

Fortuna bounced back from its loss at home to Sale by defeating Olympians 4-2 in Traralgon.

Falcons overcame Tyers 2-0.

SALE United will head to Morwell to play Falcons on Saturday night from 5pm. The Swans should be challenged by Falcons who are only three points behind them on the ladder.

On Sunday, Fortuna will host Moe, Churchill should have little trouble at home against Tyers, Monash will host Olympians and Traralgon City will be home against Newborough-Yallourn.
