TRARALGON-Tyers United and Morwell were big winners in Anzac Day football yesterday.
TTU began round three of North Gippsland football with a 63-point at Rosedale.
Following a moving Anzac Day ceremony, the Bombers won 16.17 (113) to 7.8 (50) to inflict Rosedale’s first defeat of the season.
After leading by nine points at quarter-time, the visitors set-up the victory by kicking five unanswered goals in the second term to go into half-time 44 points ahead.
Following an even third quarter, the Bombers kicked four goals to one.
Coach Matt Stolarczyk and Pat Sharp were the Bombers’ best with Dylan Loprese kicking three goals.
For the Blues Rohan Diamond and Hayden Mowat were best, while Andrew Flanagan kicked three goals.
IN the Gippsland League, Morwell defeated Moe by 121 points.
Daniel Hutchison kicked eight goals, with Jeff Ryan and Mannon Johnston prominent.
The Tigers led by 10 points at quarter-time before booting nine unanswered goals in the second term. The damage continued in the second half with the visitors kicking 10 goals to two, winning 25.18 (168) to 7.5 (47).
