FOR the second week in a row, Moe-Newborough Dodgers had the wood on the Sale Rangers in the senior division of the Latrobe Valley Baseball Association.
In A grade, Sale began slowly, not scoring in the first innings before Moe-Newborough came out to bat scoring seven. Both teams scored one in the second inning and from there on it was a tight game with both teams getting outs.
It wasn’t until the sixth innings the Dodgers came out swinging again, scoring a further five runs.
The home side then shut Sale out for the remainder of the game to win 14-1. James Jackson had an outstanding game behind the dish and scored a safe hit, Brad Taylor also had a great game at third base, Andrew Johnston hit a two base hit, while Will Hector was solid on the pitcher’s mound all day.
This Sunday, the Rangers will travel to Churchill to face last year’s premier, who are coming off a 4-1 loss to Traralgon in A grade.
