SEVEN runs in the first innings set-up the Latrobe Valley baseball leader Traralgon Redsox’s 19-8 win over the Sale Rangers.
The undefeated Redsox came out swinging in the first inning before Justin Johnson made in harder for the visitors to hit the gaps.
The Redsox score two more runs in the second before the Rangers, playing their first home game of the season, finally got the bats hot, scoring six runs in the fifth.
The visitors scored two runs to one in the sixth innings before scoring five unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Highlighting the Redsox’s dominance, they recorded 23 hits to the Rangers’ 11, while the home side had nine errors to the visitors’ three.
Sale’s best were Will Hector, who had three hits, James Jackson, Trevor Willims and Chris Zimmer, who had two hits each.
In the other A grade game, Churchill defeated Moe-Newborough 11-4.
The Sale Rangers will meet the Redsox again this Sunday, this time at Traralgon, while Moe-Newborough will host Churchill.
