THE Sale Rangers had a much better day out last Sunday, only letting Latrobe Valley baseball leader Traralgon score in two innings on their way to a 7-5 defeat.
The Redsox opened the scoring in the second innings with three runs.
Sale clawed back two runs in the third before the home side kept the Rangers scoreless in the fourth while piling on another four runs for itself.
The Rangers were then able to keep Redsox scoreless for the rest of the game, while scoring two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Sale’s best were James Jackson, catcher Will Hector, with three hits each, and pitcher Trevor Williams, with two hits.
In the other A grade match, Moe-Newborough defeated Churchill 15-10.
This Sunday, the Rangers will host Moe-Newborough.
