THE Sale Rangers came back from six runs down after four innings to record their second successive victory in Latrobe Valley baseball.
The Rangers upset the Churchill Braves 7-6, keeping the visitors scoreless after four innings.
After conceding the six runs, the home side opened its account with a run in fifth innings, two in the sixth and two in the eighth.
With Sale trailing by one with one out in the final inning, Will Hector singled, James Jackson was walked, Nathan Massey singled to centre field with Hector scoring and Jackson standing on third base.
Massey stole second base next pitch, Nicole Garner then hit a ground ball to short stop and although shortstop threw the ball home plate as Jackson, he ran through the catcher, knocking the ball out to score the winning run.
Justin Johnston, Massey, with two hits, and Jackson, one hit, were the Rangers’ best players.
Traralgon and Moe-Newborough tied the other A grade match 6-6.
The LVBA competition will take the long weekend off with its representative team, including Sale’s Will Hector and James Jackson, competing in the country championships in Geelong.
